感想
大阪メトロのウェブサイト翻訳を自動翻訳に任せていたら、へんな翻訳になってしまっていた話。完全に笑い話として読んでしまいましたが、自分が外国人で旅行中だったら結構面倒なことになりそうです。
中盤で紹介されているCMプロモーションの文言はともかく、固有名詞がおかしいのくらいわかりそうなものですが、英語だけでなく中国語・韓国語・タイ語翻訳をしていたとのことで、確かにハングル文字やタイ文字で書かれちゃうとチェックするのも難しいですよね。
担当者はMicrosoftの自動翻訳プログラムを使っていたとのことで、Microsoftへの熱い風評被害か?!と思いつつ、Google翻訳だったら大丈夫だろ...と思って試してみたところ
うん、ダメですね。。いちおうGoogle先生にはフィードバックを送っておきました。

Impression
This is an article about ‘weird’ English translation for the website of Osaka metro which was translated by using automated program. At first I thought it was just a funny story but on the second thought it could be a problem for tourists from foreign countries actually.
I guess in case of English, there’s no reason why they overlooked proper nouns such as ‘Sakai-suji’ because it’s obvious that these nouns shouldn’t be translated (it’s understandable that some sentences are overlooked by someone who do not use English normally, though).
According to the article, the PIC for this used Microsoft's automated translation program, oh it might be going to be a harmful rumor for Microsoft! So I tried Google translate for fair, just in case. Let's take a look 👀
